Oracle scanners

The security-related configurations for the Snow Inventory Oracle Scanners are listed below.

Snow Inventory Oracle Scanner

The following security aspects can be configured using the Oracle element of snowagent.config:

  • Instance credentials

    To specify default credentials to be used when scanning the database instances, use <DefaultInstanceCredentials>. For the default credentials to work in environments with both container and non-container databases, you must in addition configure <UseMixedCredentials>. For more information, see DefaultInstanceCredentials and UseMixedCredentials.

    To specify instance-specific credentials, use <Include><Instance><Credentials>. For more information, see Include.

  • Navigate to correct temporary working directory

    To run the scanner in combination with a security policy that changes the CWD (Current Working Directory) on OS user logon, use <FileSystemSecurityModule>. For more information, see FileSystemSecurityModule.

Snow Inventory Oracle Middleware Scanner

You can configure Snow Inventory Oracle Middleware Scanner to anonymize scanned data. For more information, see Configure the scanner to anonymize data.
