Online upgrade to Snow License Manager 25

The following section describes how to upgrade from Snow License Manager 9.x to Snow License Manager 25 when internet access is available.

Depending on what version of Snow License Manager you have installed, see Upgrade from Snow License Manager 9.44 or earlier versions or Upgrade from Snow License Manager 9.45.

Preparations​

Before you start with the upgrade, run the Data Update Job, and verify that it finishes successfully.

caution

If the Data Update Job does not finish successfully, contact Flexera Support and do not proceed with the upgrade.

Upgrade from Snow License Manager 9.44 or earlier versions​

When you do not have the latest versions of Snow Inventory 6 and Snow License Manager 9 installed, use this procedure to upgrade to Snow Inventory 25 and Snow License Manager 25.

  1. On your Snow application server, open the Snow Update Service application.

  2. Select Check for updates.

  3. In Available updates, do the following:

    1. Select all available updates for Snow inventory 6.

    2. Select all available updates for Snow License Manager 9.

    3. Select Install, and then wait for the installation to complete.

  4. In Available updates, do the following:

    1. For Snow Inventory Server v. 25.1:

      1. Select Disabled. Click for info and enable.

      2. Read through the Important information.

      3. To confirm, select Yes.

    2. For Snow License Manager v. 25.1:

      1. Select Disabled. Click for info and enable.

      2. Read through the Important information.

      3. To confirm, select Yes.

    3. Select Install, and then wait for the installation to complete.

  5. In Available updates, select and install any additional updates that are available for Snow Inventory 25.x and Snow License Manager 25.x.

  6. Run the Data Update Job and verify that it finishes successfully.
    Keep in mind that the first run of the Data Update Job can take a long time to complete.

Upgrade from Snow License Manager 9.45​

When you have the latest versions of Snow Inventory 6 and Snow License Manager 9 installed, use this procedure to upgrade to Snow Inventory 25 and Snow License Manager 25.

  1. On your Snow application server, open the Snow Update Service application.

  2. Select Check for updates.

  3. In Available updates, do the following:

    1. For Snow Inventory Server v. 25.1:

      1. Select Disabled. Click for info and enable.

      2. Read through the Important information.

      3. To confirm, select Yes.

    2. For Snow License Manager v. 25.1:

      1. Select Disabled. Click for info and enable.

      2. Read through the Important information.

      3. To confirm, select Yes.

    3. Select Install, and then wait for the installation to complete.

  4. In Available updates, select and install any additional updates that are available for Snow Inventory 25.x and Snow License Manager 25.x.

  5. Run the Data Update Job and verify that it finishes successfully.
    Keep in mind that the first run of the Data Update Job can take a long time to complete.
