ServiceNow family

note

ServiceNow has made updates to the Table API as part of the Washington DC release. The ServiceNow connector has been enhanced to support these changes; it continues to support previous versions of the API. These enhancements are in beta.

The ServiceNow family page shows information about all related services from ServiceNow, providing a consolidated view that helps you find optimization opportunities across the ServiceNow family subscriptions.

In addition to the information shown on the Family page for all other product families in SaaS, the ServiceNow family page includes a Use verification tab, as well as additional table columns on the Users and Subscription tabs.

Subscriptions tab

The Subscriptions tab includes two additional metrics related to your subscriptions in ServiceNow: Measured role types and ServiceNow applications. These added columns provide visibility on the ServiceNow roles that count toward licensing and the applications that are available under each subscription. You can use this information to recognize redundancies in your application coverage across multiple subscriptions, and to identify overlaps in the measured roles associated with a subscription, so you can right-size accordingly to reduce unnecessary costs.

Consumptions tab

The Consumptions tab for ServiceNow provides an overview of consumption-based subscriptions by name, the applications associated with each consumption, the ratio of consumed to total purchased subscriptions, and the number of purchased and remaining units.

Use verification tab

note

This feature is currently available in beta.

The Use verification tab shows information related to ServiceNow's Use Verification report. The tab displays consolidated data that allows you to identify inactive users and see the ServiceNow roles assigned to them. You can use this information to understand which licensable roles are underutilized and should be downgraded or removed.

The Use verification tab lists ServiceNow subscriptions where the user counts differ between ServiceNow's Subscription Management and Use Verification reports. Subscriptions where the counts match are excluded from this tab. To view data for a specific subscription shown on the Use verification tab, select the subscription name.

Users tab

The Users tab includes additional fields related to users and their assigned roles in ServiceNow. This information enables you to monitor role assignment and ensure that billable entitlements are granted appropriately. For example, you can identify users who have an OOB (out-of-the-box) role and a custom role that both correspond to the same measured role. You can also view the Groups column to identify users who may have unintentionally inherited measured roles through group assignments.
