Manage imports of computer data
Learn how to import data to update existing computers in SAM on Snow Atlas.
Prerequisites
Before you can import data to update existing computers, you must prepare an import source file which contains the data that you want to import. To help you, there is an import template available for download. The template is a CSV file and the column headers on the first row are separated with commas. To download the template:
-
On the SAM Core menu, select Computers.
-
Select Import data.
-
Select Download template.
Certain information must be provided for a successful import. For detailed information on the required data and where the data can be found in SAM on Snow Atlas after the import, see Update existing computers.
If you run a data import to update computers, these computers must already exist in SAM on Snow Atlas.

To import data you must prepare an import file, upload the file, and then map the column names in the import file to the corresponding fields in SAM on Snow Atlas.

When the data in the import file has been imported, you will receive a success or warning message. If the data in the file contained errors, those computer rows will not be updated.
