Manage application denylist

Learn how to manage the application denylist in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

View applications on the denylist

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Home, select Administration.
  2. Select Application denylist.
  3. Select the Applications (result) tab.

Add denylist rules

You can create rules to automatically identify applications and add them to the denylist. For field descriptions, see Application denylist: Reference.

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Home, select Administration.

  2. Select Application denylist.

  3. On the Rules tab, select Add rule.

  4. In the Rule details step, do the following:

    1. In Rule name, enter a name for the rule.
    2. Optional: In Comment, enter a description of the rule and a comment on why the rule exists.
    3. Select Next step.
  5. In the Applications step, use filters to find the applications you want to add to the denylist. Do the following:

    1. Use the Add group or Add criteria to create the filter. Use % as a wildcard character to include several applications with, for example, common names or types.

      EXAMPLE

      Application name like %poker%

    2. To see what applications the filter returns, select Preview results.

    3. When the required filter is in place, select Save.

Edit denylist rules

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Home, select Administration.
  2. Select Application denylist.
  3. On the Rules tab, select the rule you want to edit.
  4. Add or edit the applicable information in the Rule details and Applications steps.
  5. Select Save.

Delete denylist rules

  1. On the SAM Core menu, under Home, select Administration.
  2. Select Application denylist.
  3. On the Rules tab, find the rule you want to remove, and then select Delete.
  4. Select OK to confirm.
