Add or edit compliance exclusions: Reference

Refer to the tables below for field descriptions when you want to add or edit a compliance exclusion rule in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

Exclusion details

The Exclusion details step lets you set the name of the rule and describe the reason why the rule is created.

Field label	Description
Consumer type	The type of excluded consumer: Computer or User. (Required)
Rule name	The name of the rule. (Required)
Reason	The reason why the rule is created. (Required)

Applications

The Applications step lets you select the applications to be excluded.

Refer to the table below for field descriptions of Automatic filter.

Field label	Description
Application name	The name of the application.
Application family	The product family that the application belongs to. For more information, see Application family.
Manufacturer	The manufacturer of the application.

Refer to the table below for field descriptions of Manual selection. You can add more fields from the Column selector.

Application name	The name of the application.

Manufacturer	The manufacturer of the application.
Application types	The application type is a classification based on the function of the application. For more information, see Application type.
Installations	The total number of installations of the application.
Metric	The metric for the application.

Consumers

The Consumers step lets you select the consumers to be excluded.

For consumer type Computer, refer to the table below for field descriptions of Automatic filter.

Field label	Description
Computer name	The name of the computer.
Model	The computer model.
Datacenter name	The name of the datacenter that the computer is a member of, if any.
Organization	The organization node that the computer belongs to.

For consumer type Computer, refer to the table below for field descriptions of Manual selection. You can add more fields from the Column selector.

Field label	Description
Computer name	The name of the computer.
Manufacturer	The manufacturer of the computer.
Organization	The organization node that the computer belongs to.
Status	The status of the computer: Active, Quarantined, or Inactive.
Virtual	Shows if the computer is a virtual machine.
Server	Shows if the computer is a server.
Operating system	The operating system of the computer.
BIOS serial number	The BIOS serial number of the computer.
Exclude consumers without installations	If selected, you reduce the list of computers to only the ones that have the application installed.

Field label	Description
User	The user's name including information on domain and username.
Full name	The user's full name.
Organization	The organization node that the user belongs to.

Status	The status of the user: Active or Quarantined.
Last logon	The date when the user most recently signed in to a computer or device.
Exclude consumers without usage	If selected, you reduce the list of users to only the ones that have used the application.
